Here are links to organizations that offer programs or promote sports/recreation for people with disabilities.  Some are local to Michigan and some are national organizations with local chapters.  We’ve tried programs with some of the local organizations.  I plan on adding more information as I come across it in my research.

  • Best Buddies International is dedicated to reducing the social, physical and emotional isolation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Dance Mobility  www.dancemobility.com offers ballroom dancing for people with disabilities
  • Miracle League has over 300 leagues in the U.S.  Check their national site The Miracle League to find a league near you
Clinton Valley Little League Challenger Division – www.clintonvalleylittleleague.com
  • Offers a baseball league for people with disabilities.  Clinton Valley Little League is our local chapter of the larger national Little League organization.  The “Challenger Division” was created to offer programs for people with disabilities

Here are links to local Michigan communities near me that have Adaptive Recreation programs.  I recommend checking their sites frequently or sign up for e-mails to stay informed of upcoming activities.  Many communities in the US offer adaptive recreation programs through their parks and recreation offerings.  I recommend checking with your local community to see what they offer.
